Meet Effie

For as long as I have been a photographer, the highest praise I have received has been “she keeps her suitcase packed for every eventuality”, and my photography style is often described as moment driven, editorial, and light-hearted.

A busy work schedule is a small price to pay when you have found your purpose, so you won’t hear me complain about long hours, traffic jams, early wake-ups or all-nighters.

My career began close to photography within powerhouse publishing brands and fashion magazines where my skills were honed and attention to detail was the highest in demand. When I picked up a camera to shoot the action I never looked back.

Having worked with so many beautiful humans I’ve witnessed how fragile and fleeting our best moments can be. This also taught me there is no room for stalemates, gender games or marginalized voices. Our lives and loves deserve to be bottled up and kept safe.

My zeitgeist involves visiting exhibitions, reading good books and cultural events that grapple with issues around the gaze, the light and the art of living. I’m fascinated by visceral, figurative beauty that challenges ideals. My home is where my art is, but my most special nook around it, is where my husband and two sons’ hearts beat.

When I’m not foraging for style props for my shoots, travel to document weddings or try to balance on unstable things because that’s where the good angle is, you’ll find me challenging myself in piloxing, hiking to Poseidon’s Temple on Cape Sounio, popping a chilled Alexandria muscat with good friends, and singing Queen songs on the top of our voices with my beautiful men.
